Today was day one of eating my ediets.com prepared meals food. I will admit I was enthusiastic, somewhat determined to like it, and extremely apprehensive all at the same time. Overall, I would give my day’s worth of food a 7 on a scale of one to 10 with 10 being the best. Breakfast my least favorite meal, lunch was the BEST, dinner was great and the snack was delicious. The food kept me pretty full almost all day. I even had enough energy to work out when I got home from work before dinner — something that never happens when I pack my own lunches.
I’ll break each meal down for you below.
Breakfast
For breakfast today, I had and egg and cheese sandwich. Or… that’s what I thought I was going to have when I ordered it last week. What I actually got was a Southwestern Egg and Cheese sandwich. To be honest, this meal was mediocre. Partly because I don’t like eggs that much (and probably made a mistake in ordering them) and mostly because I don’t like salsa or bell peppers with my eggs and this “southwestern” mix was full of both. I think maybe if my tastes were different and I enjoyed eggs more, I would have thought it was fine, but I didn’t so… moot point. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s cinnamon raisin whole wheat bagel with yogurt-cream cheese.
Lunch
Lunch was FANTASTIC. I had a turkey meatball sandwich. Uh, yum! The meatballs were smothered in great tasting sauce and there were quite a few of them (score!). The roll was fresh and delicious, though it was a little small to fit all the yummy meatballs and sauce. Luckily, thanks to my stealthiness (and lifetime of learning to eat a lot and disguise it as a little…) in the words of Tim Gunn, I made it work. The only wrinkle in my lunch was when I got (unhealthily) excited about a deli pickle which the directions on the package instructed me to remove before microwaving my meal. When I opened the package to remove said pickle, the pickle was missing. I was SO looking forward to that pickle… maybe next time!
Dinner
Cheese tortellini with meat sauce and sauteed broccoli and carrots. Like lunch, also really good. The meat sauce was eerily similar to the turkey meatball sandwich mixture and therefore, yum-tastic. The tortellini portion seemed small but I think I will get used to it and once I was actually eating instead of examining, there seemed to be plenty. The broccoli was good… it was broccoli… not a lot you can mess up. The carrots were cooked carrots, which are just about my least favorite cooked veggie, but they were not bad either. I would order this again for sure.
Snack/Dessert
I saved my triple chocolate chunk cookies for dessert tonight. I was pretty stoked about them. I chose to use one of my servings of dairy to go with them so I could dunk! Yay! The cookies were tasty. Are there really any cookies that aren’t? Cookies and milk. What more is there to say?

It is so good to see that generally you are enjoying the meals so far. All the best, Tricia.
