It’s day 3 of my ediets.com adventure and I am still so happy with everything. I can honestly say that so far, this has been the easiest and best dieting experience I have had (and I have a lot… I started in 3rd grade). I’m eating great meals with a ton of flavor (I haven’t added salt or seasonings to anything yet) and staying satisfied until my next meal. I have had a few minutes of hunger in-between meals but it usually only lasts about 10 minutes or so and then I forget about it and stop feeling hungry. I didn’t lose another 3 pounds today but I did lose about 2/10 a pound. In 2 days of dieting, I’m more than ok with a 3.2 pound weight loss. Who wouldn’t be? I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings! (Oh, and speaking of tomorrow, for those of you following the blog, don’t forgot I have the 5 day meal plan from ediets.com so I won’t be eating the prepared meals on the weekends and won’t be blogging again until Monday night.)

Breakfast

The picture of my breakfast today seems deceiving. It doesn’t look so good but it tasted awesome. It’s not often I can give yogurt the adjective “awesome.” I’m usually not a big fan of the stuff, but this yogurt was raspberry flavored and chock full of nutty granola that added a fantastic chewy texture to the cool, smooth yogurt. It was perfect. The peaches that accompanied the yogurt were a nice change to the apples I have been eating recently and went well with the flavors of the yogurt. This meal was so good I was even able to pass up eating the “staff breakfast” at my school today which consisted of things like french toast, hash browns and egg and cheese casseroles. I ate my yogurt proudly in the same room with my friends who were eating many other calorie-packed items and didn’t even once consider having “just one bite” of something other that my yogurt. That’s how great this meal was.

Lunch

I flaked at lunch time today. I was so caught up in my buffalo chicken pita sandwich and sweet potato fries that I forgot to take a picture. It was super yummy. I was really nervous about this chicken but it was completely lean and had a seriously great buffalo sauce flavor. And they even remember to put my “deli pickle” in the box this time. Hooray! The sweet potato fries were a little soggy thanks to the microwave but they tasted great and left me wishing for a few more (and maybe an oven. ) I’ll definitely be ordering this lunch again. (The photo below is a stock photo from the ediets.com website. My chicken strips weren’t quite that plentiful buts it’s otherwise a good representation.)

Dinner

Who would have thought I would like chicken meatballs? I like regular meatballs but to me, there is something inherently strange about chicken meatballs. They’re white. That’s weird… but tasty! Tonight I dined on Chicken Meatball Stroganoff with broccoli and cauliflower. The gravy-like sauce was rich and creamy and the noodles, despite being microwaved, were perfect. Overall, a good meal. It’s not my favorite I’ve eaten but I would certainly order it again to keep things mixed up and changing.

I 100% remember taking a picture of my dinner… but i can’t seem to find it. I promise I will do better on Monday! Here’s another stock photo from ediets.com picturing the meal I ate for dinner tonight.

Snack/Dessert

Cookies again. Yay! I had cinnamon-sugar shortbread cookies for dessert this evening. Sweet. Buttery. Cookie-goodness. Who would have thought this would be an option on a 1400 calories a day diet? Not me. But they are and I’m not about to start complaining. I think the chocolate chunk cookies still have a soft spot for the favorites in my tummy, but these are a close second. Yum.
